Coronavirus: how to clean doorknobs? -

The coronavirus has become a pandemic that has forced the Spanish government to take a series of measures including confinement at home for at least 30 days. Experts have found out that this virus is also transmitted by contact with contaminated objects or surfaces, which makes cleaning your home very important. From Pomoline we give you some recommendations for cleaning the knobs and doorknobs in your home, both indoors and outdoors.

Disinfecting doorknobs

Are you taking the recommended measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus? Among them is knowing how to disinfect the house. There are some elements that we usually forget to clean, such as door knobs and handles, switches or the TV remote control. All these devices are surfaces that we are constantly touching and it is very important to clean them regularly in order to prevent contagion.

A germ-ridden door can easily spread disease, both at home and in the workplace. Therefore, to clean door knobs, handles or handles you can use the cleaner or disinfectant that you use on a regular basis. Although if you want to carry out a more thorough cleaning, there are several disinfectant cleaning products such as bleach, the chemical disinfectant par excellence. Another option is to make a solution of 70% alcohol and 30% water, spray and wipe with a cloth.

If you have golden knobs, in addition to the aforementioned products, you can use a cloth soaked in vinegar and then rub, so that the shine is restored.

As for the rest of the house, you should also clean it following these tips, especially the kitchen and the bathroom, which are the two rooms with the highest risk of infections. Don’t forget taps, toilets and textiles (towels, cloths, cloths, cloths…). As well as the windows, both inside and out, it is important to disinfect and clean them. We are going to be at home for many days and cleanliness must be a priority to avoid any contagion.

Every time you go outside, to walk your pet or go to the supermarket, you should clean your mobile phone and leave your shoes at the entrance of the house and wear different ones.

Always wear gloves

For cleaning tasks, it is best to use disposable gloves, but if you are going to reuse them, it is advisable to use them only for disinfecting surfaces and not for any other cleaning task. After removing gloves, wash your hands immediately

How long does the virus last on surfaces?

According to experts, the virus can stay in the air from three hours to 5 days depending on the type of surface and conditions. Here are some examples!

– 4 days on wood or glass.
– 5 on metal, plastic and ceramics.
– Two to eight hours on aluminium.
– Three hours on copper.
– Three days on stainless steel.
– 24 hours on charcoal.

If you have not yet taken these measures, do so and do not forget to share these recommendations to avoid the spread of the coronavirus. From Pomoline we are still operational through our website, if you have any questions, we will be happy to help you.
